World's Coolest Day

You have probably been to the cinema before, but have you ever seen a film outdoors? During World's Coolest Day you can experience cinema magic under the open sky! Saturday 29.08 you can see a selection of short films for the youngest ones, and LILLE AMELIE for the ones over 6 years old.

Activity day and outdoor cinema at Grønland

On Sunday 30.08 we invite evereyone to free activities and film screenings in Olafiagangen at Grønland! From 12 and through the day there will be several activities and two feature films. The first film is PADDINGTON 2 at 13.00, and the second film is LISTEN UP! at 16.00. Both films are in Norwegian.

THE CROWN PRINCE // Conversation Henriette Steenstrup and Harald Utter

In connection with the screening of THE CROWN PRINCE on Sunday 30.08 at Cinemateket in Oslo, this year's Portrett Oslo curator, Henriette Steenstrup, will take part in a conversation with historian and author Harald Utter about one of Norway's greatest acting icons, Bjørn Sundqvist.

On Friday, during the festival, we have breakfast screenings. This means that the films start early in the morning, and that a simple breakfast will be served before them.

Start your day with hotel breakfast and film screening at Hobo Hotel on Saturday, 29.08 at 11.00. Hobo Hotel and Oslo Pix Film Festival invite you to a late breakfast while we screen the 80s classic THE BREAKFAST CLUB.

On Tuesday 25.08 you can see Julian Rosefeldt's visually striking film work EUPHORIA at the National Museum.

Dansens Hus X Pix on Art

On Tuesday 25.08 and Wednesday 26.08 we are showing four films at Dansens Hus. This year's film programme is split in two and shows how body, movement and cinematic storytelling speak to (self-)staging, the power of definition, identity and tradition.

Flash Pitch with Mediefabrikken

Before the screening of KORTREIST on Tuesday 25.08, there will be short film pitches. After the lightning pitch, the audience votes for the winning project. The winner receives NOK 15,000 from Mediefabrikken.

On Thursday, 27.08, at 15.00, there will be a screening of the popular war film BLÜCHER at Sofienberg Church. The film is completely free and falls right after school hours.

KJÆRAST at Det Norske Teatret

On Thursday 27.08 there will be a completely unique screening of Erik Poppe's latest film, KJÆRAST, based on a screenplay by Jon Fosse. The film will be shown in Sal 3 at Det Norske Teatret, and after the film, the film's director Erik Poppe and journalist and author Cecilie N. Seiness will take part in a conversation.

Pix on Art Party: Lisa & Lisa

Welcome to a party with Oslo Pix Filmfestival and Dansens Hus, on Tuesday 25.08 at Dansens Hus. As part of the film programme on self-staging, we have invited the mysterious DJ duo Lisa & Lisa to close out the festival day.

The party is free and open to all, whether you've seen a film or not.

From 18.00, Tuesday 25.08, we round off Oslopitch with Dramatic SOFA, award ceremony and after-party at Nieu Grünerløkka. The event is free and open to all, including those who have not taken part in the Oslopitch event earlier in the day.

After the festival premiere of the closing film FJORD by Cristian Mungiu, there will be a premiere party at Kunstnernes Hus. The party starts at 22.30 and is open to all.

Exhibition: Ulf Lundin's «5–9» at FRAKT

Ulf Lundin 5 9

In FRAKT's viewing space on Sukkerbiten, Ulf Lundin's video work 5–9 portrays Swedish office workers outside regulated working hours, as representatives of modern working life and the social-democratic ideal of routine and collectivity.

Catch the exhibition at FRAKT on Sukkerbiten on Saturday and Sunday, 12.00–16.00. The exhibition is free.
