What does it take for an action to be defined as civil disobedience and «acquitted» in the name of democracy? This is the theme of the panel discussion following the screening on 25.08.

In February 2023, activists occupied the lobby of the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy in protest against the government's ongoing human rights violations against reindeer herders at Fosen.
For over two years the case against the activists went through the court system, before all of the activists were acquitted by the Supreme Court and the action was declared an act of "civil disobedience." But what does it take for an action to be defined as civil disobedience and "acquitted" in the name of democracy?
What is the cost for the activists? And why is being able to break the law an important safety mechanism in a democracy? The Tankesmien Agenda invite you to a conversation after the screening of the film LET OUR MOUNTAINS LIVE.
