Swedish opening film, Finnish ending and Oslo premiere of HØR HER'A at this year's Oslo Pix Film Festival

This year's Oslo Pix Film Festival kicks off with a film and live performance at Sentrum Scene with the documentary film A TIGER IN PARADISE and the singer José González. The film is directed by Mikel Cee Karlsson. Legendary Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki's latest film, FALLEN LEAVES, which recently premiered at Cannes, has the honor of being the closing film of the year. The film adaptation of Gulraiz Sharif's book HØR HER'A by Kaveh Tehrani will of course have its Oslo premiere during the festival. In addition, the Norwegian contribution to the main short film competition in Cannes, the short film TITS by Eivind Landsvik, will be shown.

Scary conditions in American politics also have an important place in the festival program with the documentary films PRAYING FOR ARMAGEDDON by the Norwegian director Tonje Hessen Schei and A STORM FORETOLD by Christoffer Guldbrandsen, which is a close portrait of Trump's advisor, Roger Stone.

"We are proud to present the documentary A TIGER IN PARADISE made by Ruben Östlund's Plattform Produktion about the Swedish artist José Gonzalez. The deeply charming movie HØR HER'A about growing up in Groruddalen has an obvious place in a film festival that embraces Oslo. FALLEN LEAVES rocked the world's biggest film festival a few weeks ago, and it is a great honor to be allowed to end the festival with Aki Kaurismäki's latest film. TITS is obvious for us to show; this year we are establishing a separate section dedicated to indie films made about or in Oslo."
Johanne Svendsen Rognlien, program manager for Oslo Pix Film Festival
