The vast majority of society works for the world to continue to exist. But in the US, a large group of Christian fundamentalists is working to hasten doomsday. Power, money and religion are intertwined in this terrifying thriller documentary.

Praying for Armageddon is a magnificent documentary from the director of iHuman, Tonje Hessen Schei. She and co-director Michael Rowley follow an ever-growing evangelical movement that is convinced that Jesus will appear in Israel to take the lives of all the unbelievers. The crises our planet has experienced the recent years - pandemics, wars and natural disasters - are seen as proof that the prophecy is about to be realized. For this to happen, the Israeli state has to exist, and the influential group is therefore actively working against American foreign policy in the Middle East. Praying for Armageddon investigates the dangerous consequences of the fusion between Evangelical Christianity and American politics, may lead to.

«…“Praying for Armageddon” is a compelling, sobering Revelation all its own, revealing the hitherto unimagined scale of a type of political insanity that would entrust the future to people who don’t want there to be a future at all.»
