Mirjam Sveinbjörg Thorkelsdottir
Mirjam Sveinbjörg Thorkelsdottir (b. 1998) is a film director and screenwriter of Icelandic-Albanian background. Her fascination with film began early, inspired by her father's passion for the medium, and she started making short films as young as twelve. Mirjam studied directing at Westerdals Oslo ACT and the Norwegian Film School. During her studies at the Film School she wrote and directed her first low-budget feature, LØGNHALS, now in post-production. For Mirjam, the power of film lies in its capacity to affect, challenge and mirror human experience. She is committed to portraying complex characters honestly, where no one is straightforwardly "good" or "evil." Creating stories is her greatest love and driving force. For her, film is more than entertainment – it is a way of reaching people and giving something back.
