Work-in-Progress: RYTMENE & LØGNHALS

This year's work-in-progress dives into the processes behind the two upcoming feature films, RYTMENE and LØGNHALS.

The directors of the films will be present to show clips and talk about their work on them.

About RYTMENE

The feature film with the working title RYTMENE follows the lives of a group of eight-year-olds in a Norwegian suburb: the rhythms of their everyday lives, rhythms in play, learning and relations. Through screens and overheard conversations, the adult world's realities seem increasingly closer to them, and while some of these realities can be understood and accepted, others are harder to swallow. After an accident in the area, the children become preoccupied with what happens to you after you die, and again, they experience that the explanations by the adults are lacking. 

About LØGNHALS

Jenny lies. Little lies. Big lies. Lies about who she is, what she has done, what she feels. She has built an identity based on lies – and it works. This is until she falls in love. 

When Jenny meets Birte, she starts a relationship based on a great lie – a lie she cannot withdraw from without losing everything. She is entangled in her own web of untruths, and the closer Birte becomes, the more is at stake. How long can you pretend you are someone you are not? What happens when the mask breaks?

LØGNHALS is a tense psychological character study about identity and deceit – and about the battle between who we want to be and who we actually are. A film about loving, lying and maybe – by the end – daring to show your true self.
