The Apprentice

The Apprentice tells the story of how a young Donald Trump began his real estate business in New York during the 1970s and 1980s, with a helping hand from the infamous lawyer Roy Cohn.

New York in the 1970s: Determined to step out of his powerful father’s shadow and make a name for himself in Manhattan real estate, the aspiring mogul Donald J. Trump is in the early days of his career when he meets the man who will become one of the most influential figures in his life — the cynical political fixer Roy Cohn.

The influential lawyer, who investigated suspected communists in both the government and Hollywood alongside the notorious Senator Joseph McCarthy, sees potential in the young Donald. He teaches his new protégé how to accumulate wealth and power through deceit, threats, lawsuits, and media manipulation.

And as they say — the rest is history.
