Jacob Jarek

Jacob Jarek was born in Poland and grew up in Norway. He graduated from the producing program at the National Film School of Denmark in 2011.

That same year, Jacob Jarek co-founded the Copenhagen-based production company Profile Pictures together with producers Ditte Milsted and Thor Sigurjonsson.

Profile Pictures quickly established itself as a successful and ambitious company, specializing in genre films and series with an artistic edge.

Among their productions are several of Ali Abbasi’s films, including SHELLEY (2016), selected for Berlinale Panorama, as well as HOLY SPIDER (2022) and THE APPRENTICE (2024), both selected for the main competition at Cannes. Jacob also produced SPEAK NO EVIL (2022), directed by Christian Tafdrup, which premiered at Sundance and was later remade by Blumhouse and released by Universal in 2024.

In television, Jacob has produced and executive produced series for HBO, DR, and Netflix.

He received the Danish Directors’ Ib Award in 2017 and is a member of the European Film Academy.
