The Tambourine Man
Join us for a very special closing of Oslo Pix Film Festival 2025 – a warm and life-affirming tribute to the tambourine man of Frank Znort Quartet, Willy-Freddy Shanty, who passed away earlier this year.
The film follows The Frank Znort Quartet in Oslo and on a journey to Willy’s home country, Uganda, where he reunites with his mother after five years and introduces her to his friends from the band. Along the way, we also meet Willy’s children and the devoted fans back home in Oslo. It is a story about friendship, solidarity, and the joy of music – and about what can be achieved together.
The Tambourine Man is Kari Anne Moe’s directorial debut and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

After the screening, the evening continues in true Frank Znort spirit – the band will, as always, play at BLÅ this Sunday, but this time with an extra sense of closeness and warmth.
