With never-before-seen archival footage and interviews, the film traces the path to Madonna’s breakthrough — from hits like «Holiday» and «Material Girl,» to the sexually liberating Blonde Ambition tour and the photo book Sex. It also takes a closer look at how Madonna appropriated queer culture — and later used her platform to champion the fight for HIV/AIDS research.
