Orwell: 2+2=5
The documentary ORWELL 2+2=5 explores the life and legacy of the legendary author George Orwell, with a particular focus on his most famous novel, 1984.
Using the author’s own writings, filmmaker Raoul Peck – also behind the Oscar-nominated I Am Not Your Negro – guides us through Orwell’s life, from his time as an officer in colonized Burma to his final years on the Scottish island of Jura, where 1984 was written. With masterful precision, Peck connects Orwell’s warnings about propaganda, surveillance, and authoritarianism to the geopolitical and media landscape of today.
