Kafe Oslo, Oslo Pix Film Festival and The House of Literature in Oslo serves the best things in the world: Food, film and poetry! Welcome to a film and literature inspired culinary evening, based on the film THE MENU.
The film focuses on a group of food enthusiasts who travel to a remote island to have a food experience completely out of the ordinary. The restaurant Hawthorne is run by the renowned and very strict chef Slowik, who has prepared an impressive menu, and a few dark surprises, for the guests.
The chefs at Kafe Oslo are inspired by the film and have freely interpreted Slowik’s fantastic dishes, served as a 6-course menu. Throughout the evening there will also be short literary anecdotes.

Culinary Cinema
The screening on Friday 01.09 at 18.00 is done in collaboration with Kafe Oslo and The House of Literature in Oslo, and is part of the program «Kok en bokorm».
The film screening will be in English, with English subtitles. The rest of the event will be in Norwegian.
Director
Mark Mylod is a British director and producer with several years of experience from BBC and HBO. He has directed several episodes of Game of Thrones and has worked as Executive Producer on Succession, where he also has directed episodes in each season. In addition to his TV work, he has directed four feature films, including The Menu.
