Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, LeAnn Rimes. We are sure that each of these wonderful singers should have a film of their own. We are showing films about fierce ladies with their impressive voices every evening at 8.30pm.

Glitter is not a good film. But is it interesting? Maybe. Is it funny? Definitively. We meet Mariah Carey in the role of Billie Frank; A young woman who is discovered by a DJ called Dice at a discotheque sometime in the mid 80s. Dice introduces her to the music industry, which is the beginning of a professional (and romantic) relationship. Soon Billie is on her way towards superstardom.

The second film in the Stars in Sight section is the Mariah Carey flop Glitter from 2001. Right after the premiere critics threw themselves over the film calling it one of the worst films ever made, and it has figured on the lists of the worst films of all time ever since. Many years later, in 2018, the film has to a certain extent been revived under the hashtag #JusticeForGlitter propelled by Mariah Cary fans.

Now it is your turn to rediscover Glitter and decide whether it deserved all the hate, or if this is just plain, simple fun.
