Dag Johan Haugerud

Dag Johan Haugerud (b. 1964) is an author and filmmaker. He studied to become a librarian at Oslo University College with minor subjects in film studies, theater studies and writer’s studies. He made his feature film debut with the film I Belong (2012), which won the awards for best directing in both the Kanon Award in 2012 and the Amanda Award in 2013. His second feature film, Beware of Children (2019), won nine Amanda Awards in total. He is currently relevant with the film trilogy Sex Dreams Love. The first film in the trilogy - Sex - premiered in February 2024. The film won three awards in Berlin International Film Festival in 2024 and was nominated in ten categories in the Amanda Awards in 2024. The next films in the trilogy, Dreams and Love, will also premiere in 2024. Love has been selected to compete in the main competition at the Venice Film Festival.
