I Belong
What happens to us when people don’t behave as they should?
A nurse finds herself in a work conflict because she switches to English when she feels uncertain. A translator risks her integrity when she is persuaded to translate a book she cannot stand behind. An elderly lady and her daughter feel humiliated when they are offered a million-dollar gift from a relative.
I Belong is a warm and nuanced film about people who all mean well but end up hurting each other. It's about how individuals who act out of integrity and emotions are perceived as difficult in a society where the ideal is to behave rationally. A playful tragicomedy about how what seems like a trivial matter to one person can feel like a bottomless catastrophe to another.
