Wives

Anja Breien's masterpiece, HUSTRUER, is one of the funniest and most enduring films of the 1970s.

Mie, Kaja, and Heidrun are in their 30s and reunite at a class reunion 15 years after finishing primary school. The women reconnect and decide to continue the celebration. They end up on a three-day spree before returning home to their husbands and children.

Anja Breien (b. 1940) is a Norwegian film director. She has played a significant role in Norwegian film history and is behind some of the most influential films produced in the country. Notably, she directed the films Rape (1971), the Wives trilogy (1975, 1985, 1996), Next of Kin (1979), and The Witch Hunt (1981).
