Thomas Østbye
Thomas Østbye is a documentary and art filmmaker whose films are often connected to current political topics. He has previously made films like Imagining Emanuel (2011), Out of Norway (2014), HUMAN (2009), and many other films. He has been nominated and won several awards for his films and also works with photo and installation art.
Østbye has a distinctive voice within Norwegian cinema and is known to combine artistic reflections on the documentary genre with contemporary political dilemmas. At the moment he is working on several projects. His film Enhver har rett til, which gives a unique insight into Norway’s first climate lawsuit, premiered in 2021.
