Fanny Ovesen

Fanny Ovesen is a Swedish writer-director based in Oslo. She is educated at the Norwegian Film School, from where she graduated with the short film SHE-PACK, which premiered at the Berlinale and won numerous awards – among them an Amanda Award for Best Short.

Fanny’s debut feature – LIVE A LITTLE – was a collaboration between seven countries. It had its world premiere in the Nordic Competition at the Gothenburg Film Festival, where it was awarded the Swedish Church’s ANGELOS AWARD among 16 Swedish feature film premieres. During development, she also won the NORDIC TALENTS PITCH PRIZE, the Swedish Film Institute’s “WILD CARD” development support, and the ANNA PRIZE – awarded for the project’s relevance to the UN Women’s Convention.

Fanny has also directed the Swedish television drama series ALL THAT IS LEFT, as well as episodes of the Norwegian drama series NACH for Discovery+/Max. In 2025, she is shooting her second feature film, with the working title THE EXCURSION.
