A Different Man

An actor goes through a radical change and ends up playing the role as himself. This is a dark comedy and satire on a society that equates beauty with having a good life.

Edward has neurofibromatosis, a condition that in his case has led to large growths on his face. He is very self-conscious about his appearance and loses all hope when the beautiful author Ingrid rejects him. He is offered an experimental cure and can finally meet the world as a new and handsome version of himself. But everything gets complicated when Oswald, who also has neurofibromatosis, comes into both his and Ingrid's lives. Oswald is witty and charismatic, seemingly unfazed by his appearance. He does everything Edward dreams of doing.
