Being Bo Widerberg

This documentary tells the story of the eccentric director Bo Widerberg who – despite living in the shadow of Bergman – was one of Sweden’s most influential filmmakers.

The film's director, Jon Asp, will be present for a conversation ahead of the screening at the Cinematheque, Thursday 28.08. The conversation will be in Veiviseren at 17.30. The film begins at 18.15 in Lillebil.  

The film follows Widerberg from the 1960s, when he was a promising young writer, to his recognition as one of Sweden’s great filmmakers, with screenings in Cannes and New York. It also portrays the personal costs that came with his career. In connection with the documentary, one of his classics, Raven’s End, will also be shown at Cinemateket in Oslo.
