Henden
Henden

Harald Henden was Norway’s eyes on the front lines for decades, but in recent months he had to fight his own battle against cancer.

The director of the documentary Henden – Requiem for a Photographer expected to find a battle-hardened war photographer, but was left with the image of «a humble gentleman, full of humor and warmth.»

Renowned war photographer Harald Henden, who worked for VG for over 35 years, is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and realizes he likely has only months left to live. Henden has sacrificed much to document the suffering of others. With a terminal diagnosis, he is now forced to turn the lens on himself.

Told with humor, honesty, and a lack of sentimentality, the documentary presents a universal story about how we come to terms with our limited time on Earth.
