An Army of Women

Amy, Marina, and Hanna's rape cases are dismissed by the police in Austin, Texas, and the women try to find ways to rebuild their lives.

The three women join twelve others in a groundbreaking federal class-action lawsuit, arguing that sexual assaults are not prosecuted because it is a type of crime that primarily affects women. They are determined to hold the police and prosecutors accountable but continually face resistance from a system they are trying to change.

An Army of Women is director Julie Lunde Lillesæter's first feature-length documentary and premiered at the South by Southwest Festival in 2024.

Julie Lunde Lillesæter (b. 1990) is a Norwegian director and cinematographer. She has worked on several short documentaries featured by Al Jazeera and The Atlantic, among others.
