Murra, a 15-year-old girl, struggles to balance her love for her mother with her desire for a different life.

Murra is frustrated with her mother and decides to seek refuge with her uncle, a police officer. To help her, her uncle sends her on a week-long excursion to the countryside in Australia, along with a group of other «difficult teenagers.» Each of them is given a camera and tasked with expressing themselves. As she uses the camera, Murra develops a love for it and slowly begins to accept herself.

Sweet As is a beautiful coming-of-age story, partly inspired by director Jub Clerc's childhood.
