Dancing Pina
Ten years after the iconic choreographer Pina Bausch passed away, two of her most famous performances are set up by dancers from her original dance company; one in Dresden, the other in Senegal. DANCING PINA follows the process leading up to the dance performances.
In Senegal, dancers with different dance backgrounds from various African countries practice one of the works, while in Dresden, the established dance company Semperoper Ballet practices another. Common for both is the extremely demanding preparations needed, where the goal is to gain so much control over the choreography that you lose control and disappear into the dance moves.
