Amanda

Amanda is in her early 20s and has always struggled with making friends. When she moves back to Turin, she makes a plan to convince Rebecca, with whom she hung out as a child, that they really are best friends.

The directorial debut of Carolina Cavalli premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and has since been screened at international festivals such as Toronto, and in Norway, both at TIFF and Kosmorama. Cavalli, who is the co-writer of Fremont, also screening at Oslo Pix Film Festival this year, brings a breath of fresh air to Italian contemporary cinema.

Director

Carolina Cavalli was born in Milan and works as a screenwriter and director. In 2017, she won the San Francisco Film Society Rainin Filmmaking Grant as the co-writer of Fremont (2022). Since then, she has been involved in co-writing television series and independent feature films. Amanda (2022) marks her first feature film as a director.
