On Tuesday, 27.08, and Wednesday, 28.08, Oslo Pix Film Festival and Dansens Hus invite you to a dance film program at Dansens Hus.

The festival program consists of short films, a historic musical film from Hollywood's golden age, and a brand-new documentary. In addition, there will be a panel on Hollywood's influence on contemporary dance.

We will screen six short films, each showcasing how dance and choreography function as narrative and storytelling tools in film. Seven short films will be exhibited in the foyer, collectively exploring how the environment shapes the body. The short film program will be followed by the documentary Teaches for Peaches, offering insight into the career of the artist Peaches and the «The Teaches of Peaches Anniversary Tour.»

On day two, Hollywood dance will be examined from the 1930s to the present. Alongside discussions on how dance and choreography in major films have influenced pop culture and contemporary dance, excerpts from famous films will be shown. The program will conclude with Audrey Hepburn's musical debut, the romantic comedy Funny Face.
