This year’s winners at Oslo Pix Film Festival
The jury-awarded prize winners of the 8th edition of Oslo Pix Film Festival have been announced. The Grand Pix Nordic Fiction goes to MY ETERNAL SUMMER by Sylvia Le Fanu, while the Grand Pix Nordic Documentary goes to THE DIALOGUE POLICE by Susanna Edwards.
The documentary FLOPHOUSE AMERICA by Monica Strømdahl and the fiction film ACTS OF LOVE by Jeppe Rønde received honorable mentions.

My Eternal Summer
The prize for Nordic Fiction went to MY ETERNAL SUMMER, directed by Sylvia Le Fanu.
Jury Statement:
«This year’s winner in the Nordic Fiction category is an original and heartfelt story that makes us feel deeply with minimal means. With an attentive and empathetic cinematic language, the film explores our natural search for distractions when confronted with the overwhelming. It speaks of ordinariness and naivety when faced with a truth that cannot be dressed up. Some moments can be so unbearable that they feel as if they last forever. Vivid performances embody the existential gap between one life nearing its end and another just about to begin. From the moment the hospital bed is carried into the summer house, we sense the inevitable conclusion of the story. And yet, we still want to be part of the journey. My Eternal Summer is an exceptionally strong debut feature, both impressive and deeply moving. We congratulate the filmmakers on winning this year’s award in the Nordic Fiction competition.»

Director Sylvia Le Fanu graduated from The Norwegian Film School in 2020 and holds a bachelor’s degree in film and media studies from the University of Copenhagen. MY ETERNAL SUMMER (2025) is Le Fanu’s feature film debut.

The Dialogue Police
The prize for Nordic Documentary went to THE DIALOGUE POLICE, directed by Susanna Edwards.
Jury Statement:
“The winner of Best Nordic Documentary at Oslo Pix 2025 is a film that took us by surprise. With humor and warmth, it draws us into a world we didn’t know existed, and brings us close to characters we grow fond of. With insightful cinematography and seamless editing, the film guides us through chaotic situations that contain the intimate and personal, while at the same time lifting its gaze to deliver a sharp portrait of our times. The film places us in the middle of situations where we might otherwise take sides, and forces us to reflect—not on what people say, but on their right to say it.
The winner illustrates the power of dialogue in an age of polarization, while also showing how demanding it can be. The result is a surprisingly funny and thought-provoking film that sparks reflections on the complexities of democracy, the price of free speech—and the role of the police. The film makes a strong case for meeting harsh conflicts with warmth, rather than with violence.

Director Susanna Edwards works across both fiction and documentary film. In 1996 she won the Swedish Guldbagge Award for SUNSHADOW, a documentary about bullfighter Cristina Sánchez. The film was sold to 35 countries and won several international awards. In 2000 she received a Guldbagge nomination for RESPECT!, which follows four teenage girls from Farsta, outside Stockholm. With DIALOGUE POLICE, Susanna takes on the roles of both producer and director.
Øyvind Lierhagen Eriksen (a friend of the film team) accepted the award on behalf of Sylvia Le Fanu, director of MY ETERNAL SUMMER. Sarah Winge-Sørensen (from Stray Dogs, the film’s Norwegian co-producer) accepted the award on behalf of Susanna Edwards, director of THE DIALOGUE POLICE.
