DJ Vika

DJ Vika worked as a teacher and director of a youth-oriented improvement home. After her retirement, Vika flourished as an activist and organiser for seniors. She started with dance events in clubs for the elderly and made her debut as a DJ in 2000 at the Bolek pub in Warsaw. Since then, she has played at everything from international music festivals and clubs to senior centres, kindergartens, and youth clubs, charming audiences with everything from pop classics to house, electro, and disco polo.

Vika has initiated senior parades, major intergenerational events, travelling, and festivals. In 2013, she organised the first Senior Parade with around 14,000 participants in Warsaw, inspired by pride parades. She also supports gender equality, LGBTQ rights, and inclusive communities.

The documentary film VIKA! (directed by Agnieszka Zwiefka) from 2023 follows her for several years – from concert life to personal reflections on life, family life, health, and the meaning of active ageing.
