Kjell Vassdal

Kjell Vassdal (b. 1955) is a Norwegian cinematographer. At first, Vassdal participated in many short films alongside his work on feature films. He shot Blackout (1985), his first feature film, directed by Erik Gustavson. Since then, he has recorded more than 30 feature films both in Norway and internationally. Vassdal has also recorded several TV series, more than 350 commercials and around 50 short films. Since 2009, he has been head of cinematography education at the Norwegian Film School in addition to his job as a cinematographer. He is an honorary member of the Association of Norwegian Film Photographers.
