Listers: A Glimpse Into Extreme Birdwatching

Two brothers with no clue about birds set off on a road trip to spot as many bird species as possible in the US.

Brothers Owen and Quentin have decided to attempt a so-called Big Year, the birdwatcher's version of an extreme sport, where the goal is to see as many bird species as possible within a single year. In an old minivan, they travel across the United States and, along the way, get to know a subculture that very few have insight into. It all starts as a joke, but gradually becomes an obsession.

The brothers received offers from both HBO and Netflix to distribute the film, but chose to release it themselves, entirely free of charge – and it has become an internet phenomenon.
