Hver sin Cinema // Short Film Program

HVER SIN CINEMA builds on a simple premise: great films are made when a diversity of voices get to tell the stories they carry, each in their own personal cinematic language.

The films in this programme were developed through HVER SIN CINEMA – a talent scheme that champions young filmmakers with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. The programme is led by the award-winning filmmaker Hisham Zaman. The films have already made their mark in the competition programme at this year's Short Film Festival in Grimstad and have been invited to renowned international film festivals.

Working with limited resources and great artistic freedom, the films explore themes of love, longing, alienation, violence, identity and belonging – with a desire to move their audience.

Talk after screening

After the screening, we invite you to a conversation with some of the filmmakers, Eskil Vogt (adviser and mentor to the talents), Hisham Zaman (artistic director of Hver sin Cinema) and Åse Svenheim Drivenes (project manager, Hver sin Cinema). Together they discuss the thinking behind the talent initiative, the creative process and what it takes to find your own voice as a filmmaker.
