Brightly Shining

SHINING BRIGHTLY is a moving and heartfelt tale for the holiday season about a father who does his best, but not enough, an older sister who tries to fill his shoes, and a little sister who never stops dreaming.

Ten-year-old Ronja lives in a block of flats but dreams of a log cabin in the forest where the moon shines in a starry sky. It is December, and her father is once again unemployed – until one day he gets a job selling Christmas trees. At last, the apartment smells of pine needles and the fridge is full. But sometimes the temptations become too much for her father, and Ronja and her older sister Melissa must fend for themselves. Together they take over the Christmas tree business, and will learn that even though life can be really tough, it can at the same time be truly beautiful!

Rishøi’s beloved novel Stargate – A Christmas Story became an instant Christmas classic when it was published, and has since been celebrated by critics and readers around the world. Now the book has finally been made into a film.

Closing Film

SHINING BRIGHTLY is the festival’s closing film. In connection with the screening at Klingenberg 1 on Saturday 30.08 at 18.00, there will be an award ceremony announcing the winners of the Nordic Documentary and Fiction competitions. The ceremony will last 30 minutes.

After the film, the closing party will take place at Bortenfor, Brenneriveien 7.
