Magic Farm

A hip documentary crew from New York travels to Argentina to make a film about a famous musician, but ends up in the wrong country.

When they realize they’re not actually in Argentina, the crew scrambles to fabricate a story where they are – dragging a small local community into the process. Magic Farm is both a warm dramedy and a satirical jab at Western media’s shallow portrayals of the Global South. Director Amalia Ulman delivers a strong second feature, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and features Chloë Sevigny among the cast.
