Dìdi
Sean Wang’s award-winning charming film transports us back to the long summer of 2008, filled with nostalgic references.
The film has dialogue in English and Mandarin and is subtitled in English for the Mandarin parts.
Dìdi is a 13-year-old Taiwanese-American boy who is about to start high school. Before that, he must master essential life skills such as skating, flirting, and loving his mother. Dìdi premiered at Sundance earlier this year, where it won the Audience Award and continues to charm audiences. Full of 2000s references, The Guardian described it as "easily one of the best, most seamless films [she's] seen on the experience of growing up online." If you enjoyed films like Eighth Grade (2018), this is a must-see at this year's festival.
«Dìdi is the definition of a crowd pleaser. This is a movie that will fill your heart with joy, love, and nostalgia (even if you grew up before Paramore or the early days of Facebook).»
