Los Angeles may have inspired countless cinematic tales throughout history, but none just as surreal and mystical as this one.

One evening, the young and aimless Sam meets a women in his apartment building’s communal swimming pool. The next day she has vanished, and Sam becomes obsessed with figuring out how and why. Thus begins a journey through the darkest corners of the city, and into a universe of ciphers, riddles, and conspiracies.

Director Robert David Mitchell arrived as a breath of fresh air into the horror landscape with his previous film It Follows in 2014. Under the Silver Lake is even more ambitious. It is a wild and reckless dance, and a beast of a film which more than flirts with film noir conventions. This is one of those films that you simply have to see on the big screen – and you get the chance to do just that at Oslo Pix.
