Dystopian sci-fi horror movie! Two years have passed since a zombie epidemic all but destroyed German society. Only two cities remain to uninfected humans. Vivi and Eva decide to leave the relatively safe, but depressing town of Weimar in search of a better life in Jena. But in order to get there, they must manoeuvre their way through personal demons as well as very real zombies roaming free in the country.

The script for Ever After is based on a graphic novel, and the script has been adapted by the author herself. Swedish director Carolina Hellsgård lends this history a sense of emotional depth and human strength which is often lacking in the murky waters of horror sub-genres. The Hollywood Reporter states that «the ecological subtext and feminist folk-horror elements make this almost entirely female-driven road movie an agreeably fresh addition to the zombie canon». It also passes the Bechdel Test with flying colours.
