An unforgettable surrealist comedy, best enjoyed with your critical realist filter firmly muted.

Football favourite Diamantino lives in a bubble. Lavish yacht cruises are a natural part of his everyday life, and giant super fluffy puppies floating in pink fog surround him on the football field. His dad has told him that he’s pretty much the Michelangelo of our time, and the public hero lives on, blissfully ignorant, within his secure bubble. But one day everything changes (!), when one of his routine yacht parties comes face to face with a boat full of refugees from across the Mediterranean. At the same time, an over-zealous police detective is trying to find some dirt on Diamantino, who quite frankly has more than enough on his plate just with handling his older twin sisters. Is the bubble about to burst? And where have Diamantino’s beloved giant fluffy puppies gone?

Diamantino won the Critics’ Week Grand Prize in Cannes and the Audience Award at CPH PIX, truly demonstrating that this film has something for all tastes. If you want to see a completely unique film which combines absurd comedy with topics such as the refugee crisis, EU scepticism, gene splicing, and fluent genders, then this is definitely the film for you.
