Two brothers return to the cult that they escaped from as teenagers, in an attempt to process and move on from traumatic childhood memories. Slowly, however, they are gradually seduced back into the cult; and they begin to suspect that just maybe, some of the extreme ideology of the group might not be so far-fetched after all.

The Endless is an incredibly creative film, produced on a micro-budget. It works well because, in addition to the elements of horror and science fiction, it is a character driven drama about how our past makes us who we are. Still, this is first and foremost fun – and perhaps even more fun to talk about afterwards, too. This is a film that uses visual effects and editing to convey a more and more complex story, with an emotional resonance which makes it impossible not to get invested in how things turn out.

Friends and directing duo Benson and Moorhead, who are playing the two brothers themselves, have made a sci-fi on the Twilight Zone end of the scale. The story twists and turns in new directions as we go, repeatedly making the audience question the characters’ understanding of time and space.
