Greek mythology meets the First World War and European politics in Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot plays the lead as the Amazone princess Diana, who finds the American pilot Steve Trevor washed ashore on the beaches of Themyscira, the island where she resides. When she learns about the manslaughter of the ongoing World War, she transforms into Wonder Woman, and travels to London to stop the war. In combat, shoulder to shoulder with humans, she learns of her special powers but also of her own destiny.

Wonder Woman is a new action adventure in the DC Comics Universe, and features Norwegian actress Lisa Loven Kongsli in one of the roles. Patty Jenkins (b. 1971) is an American director and screenwriter. She is known for directing the feature film Monster (2003), starring Charlize Theron, who received an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role. After directing for TV for several years, she now returns to the big screen with Wonder Woman.
