Between the Temples
A cantor in a crisis of faith finds his world turned upside down when his grade school music teacher re-enters his life as his new adult Bat Mitzvah student.
In addition to his crisis of faith, Ben struggles after the passing of his wife. Unable to sing or manage daily life, things look bleak for Ben. That is until his former music teacher, Carla, re-enters his life as an adult Bat Mitzvah student. Carla's zest for life and positivity begin to influence Ben. The film is a delightful combination of drama and comedy and had its world premiere at Sundance in 2024.
«Ultimately, Between The Temples is achingly, evenly deceptively sweet and from the heart. It’s a dexterously comic but moving examination of a life interrupted, seemingly demolished, and a life of unfulfilled dreams, clashing, colliding, and perhaps finding a tender togetherness that suggests second chances and no term limits on coming of age.»
