Anatomy of a Fall
This year’s Golden Palm Award winner tells the story of a woman suspected of the murder of her husband. When their son turns out to be a key witness in the trial, he faces a moral dilemma.
The film is subtitled in Norwegian.
Sandra is a German author who has recently moved to her husband Samuel’s childhood home along with their son Milo. Their lives are turned on its head when she finds Samuel dead outside the house, and the cause of death is unclear. Is it an accident, a suicide, or is he murdered? This year’s Golden Palm winner, Anatomy of a Fall, is a razor-sharp thriller about language, and the way it shapes our reality, driven by fantastic performances from among others, Sandra Hüller.
«The film slowly peels apart its layers, exploring how truths and facts become fictions in the retellings, whether they’re told in a courtroom or in a novel.»
