Eccentric and charismatic explorer Sir Lionel Frost is recuperating after a failed attempt at proving the existence of the Loch Ness monster. Nessie did in fact turn up very much alive, but Frost’s camera with all the evidence ended up in the water with her…

Frost is obsessed with winning recognition and respect from the older, snobbish lords of the Explorer’s Club in London. Luckily, he has just received an anonymous letter containing a tip-off about a monster that’s been observed in the North-American woodlands. Judging by the contents of this letter, Frost could be on the trail the actual Missing Link! A hilarious adventure ensues when it turns out that it isn’t Mr Frost who has discovered the Missing Link, but rather it is the somewhat hairy Mr Link who has found him! Mr Link is getting lonely, and wants Frost’s help in finding some fitting friends to socialise with.

With its distinct mixture of stop-motion and CGI, animation company LAIKA and director Christ Butler deliver exquisite images with detail and texture you’ll want to reach out and touch. The result is pure visual pleasure. The well-written script delivers a perfect combination of slapstick and razor-sharp lines, which will have younger and older audience members alike giggling in their seats.
