Let the corpses tan
An eccentric artist lives a bohemian life in a remote cottage somewhere in the French countryside, surrounded by her failed writer husband and other restless souls. But their decadent and carefree lives are interrupted when a highway robbery causes local police to take an interest in what goes on at the hilltop cottage. Soon enough, the bullets start flying past the ears of the ragged beatniks in an ecstatic neo-Western. The plot, which is both minimal and insanely complicated at the same time, is told in a non-linear style from various perspectives, with a clock face as a visual code, so you see the same scene through the eyes of changing characters. For the Italo-initiated, Let the Corpses Tan is a love child between Arrabal and Giulio Questi, which adds yet another chapter to Cattet-Forzani's dazzling retro film universe.
