We live in a time where we share more and more about ourselves on social media. But are we really getting any closer to each other? During the spring of 2016, filmmaker Charlotte Røhder Tvedt asked normal people across the country to film their world. The result is the first Norwegian documentary to consist of only crowdsourced video. Over 900 submissions has become one story, assembled by a skilled filmmaker with an eye for connections and contrasts. What engages most are the lives we get to take a part in: To witness someone else’s reality, the way they want to present it, is incredibly riveting. Either if it’s dramatic or trivial: The girl who is bullied, the girl who misses her father in some foreign country, or the man who cries in the car on his way to work. Between Us captures some of the essence of what the digital revolution demands of us: generosity, community and respect for the fact that each person’s life is actually a mystery. World premiere! CF
